Dengue Fever-Prone Areas in C. Jakarta will Be Fogged

Central Jakarta Health Sub-Department asserted that Cempaka Putih Barat's Community Health Center (Puskesmas) has responded complaints from citizens over dengue fever case at RW 08, Cempaka Putih Barat Urban Village, Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta, a while ago. Evidently, Central Jakarta Health Sub-Department will conduct fogging in dengue fever-prone areas.

According to Reggy S Sobari, Head of Central Jakarta Health Sub-Department expressed his sub-department had received citizen's report on Monday (1/12). On Tuesday (1/13), local puskesmas officers and him did an epidemiological investigation (PE) to RT 02, 04, 09, 10, and 11. As the result, mosquito larvae was found in 5 RTs.

"Three people affected by dengue cases, instead of 10 people. Hence, we will fogging RW 08 on Thursday (1/15)," said Sobari to beritajakarta.com , Wednesday (1/14).

He furthered the examination should be done before doing fogging. It aims to ascertain the origin of the virus, whether it is from the environment itself or outside.

"We do not reject, but it must be examined first, whether there is larvae or not, and the people affected by dengue not necessarily hit at home or in their own environment," he expressed.

He added, socialization planned to be held thus locals can conduct an anti-mosquito campaign (PSN) routinely. "The important thing is they have to routinely do the PSN, and we will hold socialization," he told.
